Filmmakers Rosalynde LeBlanc and Tom Hurwitz illustrate the way in which dance addresses the toll of the AIDS epidemic, particularly on the LGBTQ community. Featuring legendary choreographer Bill T. Jones, original performers of the production, and LeBlanc’s dance class at Loyola Marymount University this film offers an intricate immersion into the history and legacy of this production honoring the memories of dancers Arnie Zane and Demian Acquavella.

What is Sofa Cinema?

Sofa Cinema is a virtual theater created by Milwaukee Film while the Oriental Theatre remains closed due to the pandemic. Following the 2020 Milwaukee Film Festival, Sofa Cinema films are now offered through the same platform used during the Festival to make it easier for film fans to enjoy their movie from home!

How much are tickets?

Passes: Currently, Sofa Cinema passes are not available for purchase.

Tickets: Sofa Cinema ticket prices may vary based on the requirements of film distributors. Whenever possible, our standard price is $5 for Milwaukee Film Members / $8 for non-members.

Streaming tickets offer the opportunity to view a single film within a 48-hour window.

Please note: There are no refunds for Sofa Cinema tickets.

Do MKE Film Member discounts apply to Sofa Cinema?

Whenever possible, we offer discounts to Milwaukee Film Members! Prices are listed in the film descriptions. Members should make sure they are logged into their account before purchasing so they can see any available discounts.
